The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has successfully apprehended Kamlesh Bishnoi, also known as Karthik, who is believed to be the key figure behind the MD Drugs Network. Bishnoi was wanted in multiple states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, and authorities had placed a bounty of ₹25,000 on his head. The arrest marks a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.

In a notable development, the Rajasthan ATS has made a crucial breakthrough by capturing Kamlesh Bishnoi, also referred to as Karthik, who is the alleged mastermind behind the MD Drugs Network. This individual was under the radar of law enforcement across three states: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, and authorities had issued a reward of ₹25,000 for information leading to his arrest.
Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar highlighted that there has been a concerning surge in both the supply and consumption of drugs within the state. In a dedicated operation lasting three days, the ATS team focused their efforts in the Jaisalmer and Barmer districts. Bishnoi was taken into custody early Sunday morning in the vicinity of the Sankra police station in Jaisalmer.
Criminal Record Spanning Three States
Kamlesh Bishnoi, hailing from Dhorimanna, has a lengthy criminal history, with over seven cases registered against him across three states. He has previously been involved in transporting illegal firearms from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh to Rajasthan, and has faced arrest in connection with drug smuggling cases in Pune. Bishnoi is known to have formed an organized interstate gang by collaborating with former associates from prison.
Drug Operations Concealed within Hotel Business
According to Inspector Kumar, the investigation has uncovered that Kamlesh’s brother, Suresh Bishnoi, played a critical role in his illicit operations. The duo established a business in Jaisalmer under the name Hotel Surya, which served as a front for their drug trafficking activities. The gang had been scheming to expand their drug trade throughout the state, and efforts are now underway to dismantle this network at its core.
