Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has recently addressed the ongoing situation surrounding singer Zubeen Garg, highlighting that the decision regarding the return of the individuals who were aboard the boat in Singapore ultimately rests with them. He emphasized that if these individuals fail to comply with the investigation led by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the deadline of October 6, the government would be compelled to take stringent measures.

Digital Desk, New Delhi. On Sunday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated that the fate of those accompanying Zubeen Garg on the boat in Singapore hinges entirely on their willingness to return. He made it clear that while the Assam government lacks the authority to forcibly bring them back from Singapore, they are prepared to engage with Garg’s family to encourage the individuals to return for the necessary investigation.

The Chief Minister clarified the situation, stating, “The responsibility for their return lies solely with them. The Assam government cannot facilitate their return from Singapore, but we are willing to communicate with their parents to urge them to come back for the investigation. Should they fail to return by Monday, we will be forced to take significant actions. We may need to implement a special procedure to ensure their return.”

In a lighter note, it was reported that a newborn elephant calf in the Kaziranga National Park, located in Assam, has been named after one of Zubeen Garg’s beloved songs, “Mayabini,” reflecting the singer’s influence and popularity in the region.
