In a shocking incident, Gopichand (Gopi) Meena, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was caught on camera physically assaulting an event organizer during a Ramlila program held in Jahazpur, located in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. This incident occurred on October 1, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahanavami.

Footage of the altercation has circulated widely on social media platforms, showing Meena visibly agitated as he confronts the organizer, Prakash Gujarati. The video captures him hurling abusive language before delivering a kick to Gujarati. Attempts to reach Meena for a comment were unsuccessful, as his mobile phone appeared to be switched off.

Prakash Gujarati, the organizer of the event, expressed his dismay over the MLA’s behavior, stating that the incident was disruptive and unwarranted. The program had initially invited both MLA Gopichand Meena and Congress National General Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, which seems to have been a catalyst for Meena’s outburst. Eyewitness accounts and video evidence suggest that the MLA’s temper flared upon Gurjar’s arrival at the venue, leading to the unfortunate confrontation.

The altercation became public knowledge on Friday following the release of the video, raising eyebrows and concerns among the public. This is not the first time Gopichand Meena has found himself at the center of controversy; a prior incident on August 27 showed him kicking a drummer during a Ganesh festival celebration. The MLA later defended his actions by claiming he was acting in the interest of security and that the drummer was a member of his team.
