State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. As the assembly elections in West Bengal approach next year, the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is taking significant steps to address organizational deficiencies and enhance its presence within the state.

During his inaugural visit to West Bengal on Friday, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav convened a crucial meeting with state leaders, marking his first engagement since being appointed as the central election in-charge for the BJP in Bengal.

Call for Unity Among Party Leaders

In attendance at the meeting was Biplab Kumar Deb, the former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament from Tripura. Sources indicate that Bhupendra Yadav stressed the urgent need to resolve the existing rift between the party’s new and veteran leaders. He urged all party members to become actively involved in election preparations. Expressing dissatisfaction with the current functioning of booth committees, Yadav sought clarity on the timeline for forming committees at additional booths and requested a comprehensive update on the organizational standing of the BJP throughout the state.

BJP Engages in Strategic Election Planning

Sunil Bansal, a central observer for the Bengal BJP who participated in the meeting, recommended that at least 50 percent of existing members be retained in all levels of the committees. The meeting also focused on devising an effective election strategy. It has been agreed that the party will launch a series of campaigns across the state by the end of the month, with large-scale programs being organized in each district to galvanize support.

Formation of a New Committee Ahead of Kali Puja

Sources suggest that a new State Committee is set to be unveiled prior to Kali Puja. The meeting was attended by key figures including State President Shamik Bhattacharya, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, former state president and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar, as well as Bengal BJP Central Co-Supervisor Amit Malviya and State General Secretary (Organization) Amitabh Chakraborty, along with Joint General Secretary (Organization) Satish.
