Digital Desk, New Delhi. A tragic incident unfolded at the Khamaria turn on the Powai-Mohandra Marg within the Powai Assembly of Panna, resulting in chaos and devastation. Reports indicate that a large number of devotees had gathered for the Durga immersion festivities and were making their way out of the village of Khamaria. As these devotees approached Khamaria Mor, a speeding Bolero vehicle coming from Powai collided with the group, injuring over 25 villagers who were participating in the religious procession.
Heavy police presence on the scene
The victims of this unfortunate event suffered severe injuries, and tragically, the Bolero also struck a motorcyclist in the vicinity. Emergency services were swiftly deployed to the scene, and among those responding were a substantial police force, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) for Powai, and local MLA Prahlad Lodhi. The injured were promptly transported to Powai Hospital, with more serious cases being referred to the district hospital in Katni and the District Hospital in Panna for advanced medical care. Additionally, law enforcement officials have taken the driver of the Bolero into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
