The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken into custody an officer from the Defense Accountant General’s office on charges of accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 3.5 lakh. This illicit payment was allegedly made to facilitate the approval of a supply order for the installation of CCTV cameras at an Air Force facility. The individual who owns the CCTV company reported this matter to the CBI, claiming that Ashok Kumar Jadav, an Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) and an Air Force Sergeant, had solicited the bribe.
Digital Desk, New Delhi. In a significant development, the CBI has arrested a personnel from the Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) division of Defense Accounts for taking a bribe of Rs 3.5 lakh, intended to approve a supply order for CCTV installations at an Air Force Center.
The proprietor of the CCTV firm reached out to the CBI, alleging that both the Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) and Ashok Kumar Jadav, who is also an auditor with the Defense Accounts Ministers (CGDA) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, along with an Air Force Sergeant, had requested a bribe of Rs 4 lakh to approve the order.
Arrest Made in Rs 3.5 Lakh Bribery Case
Officials from Pune reported that the CBI conducted a verification process, but the Havildar involved did not respond when contacted by phone. They indicated that the evidence presented by the businessman was convincing. Consequently, the CBI successfully apprehended Jadhav on Monday while he was in the act of accepting the bribe of Rs 3.5 lakh, having set up a trap.
A spokesperson for the CBI released a statement confirming the arrest and subsequent presentation of the accused before the Special Judge in Pune. This was preceded by obtaining a transit remand from a special judge in Ahmedabad. Jadhav has since been placed in police custody until October 4, 2025.
