In a fierce showdown at the box office during the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, four films faced off against each other. Among them were two fresh releases and two established films that have continued to perform well at the ticket counters. So, which movie emerged victorious in this battle of the blockbusters? Let’s take a closer look at the results.
Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. The recent Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti holiday proved to be a significant day for the film industry, marking a prime opportunity for new releases. The tradition of competing film launches on holidays continued this year, with two highly anticipated titles making their debut. The first was the Kannada thriller, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1, and the second was the romantic comedy, Tulsi Kumari (Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari).
The anticipation for Kantara Chapter 1 has been building for over three years, as it serves as a prequel to the highly successful film Kantara, which debuted in 2022. Meanwhile, the romantic comedy Tulsi Kumari, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Varun Dhawan, Jahnavi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, was also a key player in this competitive landscape. Additionally, two previous releases, Jolly LLB 3 and De Call Him OG, which hit theaters on September 19 and September 25 respectively, were also in the mix for box office supremacy.
Clash of the Four Films on Dussehra
As Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti unfolded, the race among Kantara Chapter 1, Tulsi Kumari, Jolly LLB 3, and De Call Him OG became clearer with the collection figures released on Thursday. According to industry analysts at Caiknilk, the film that has taken the lead in box office earnings during this festive period is none other than Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1.

Box Office Success for Kantara Chapter 1
As reported by Caiknilk, Kantara Chapter 1 starring Rishabh Shetty has made an impressive debut, raking in ₹60 crore on its first day. This remarkable figure places it among the top opening films of the year. In contrast, the Bollywood film Tulsi Kumari, which was released simultaneously with Kantara, managed to earn ₹9.25 crore on its opening day.

Turning to the performance of older films, De Call Him OG, starring Pawan Kalyan, has accumulated ₹7.50 crore at the box office on its eighth day, performing better than both Kantara and Tulsi Kumari. On the flip side, Jolly LLB 3, featuring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, has faced challenges at the box office, earning only ₹2.1 crore on its fifteenth day, which is the lowest among the four competing films.
