Bobby Deol recently opened up about the profound bond he shares with his elder brother, Sunny Deol. He recounted a harrowing incident from the past when he suffered a leg injury during a horse riding accident while filming his debut movie, Barsaat. The incident occurred in England, and Sunny was quick to spring into action, ensuring Bobby received immediate medical attention and even arranging for an emergency airlift for surgery.

In a recent conversation, Bobby reminisced about an unforgettable moment that highlights the depth of their bond. This particular memory dates back to the time he was filming Barsaat, a project that marked his entry into the film industry. Everything was going smoothly until an unexpected horse riding accident turned the situation upside down.
The Accident Unfolds in England
Bobby vividly recalled the day of the accident, saying, “I still remember that day clearly. While shooting in England, I was riding a horse when I collided with another horse, lost my balance, and fell hard onto the ground. I could see one of my legs twisted at an unnatural angle. I tried to get back on my feet but collapsed again. My brother, Sunny, was right there. He lifted me onto his shoulders and carried me away; it felt like nothing could be worse than that.”

Sunny’s Immediate Action
Bobby Deol recounted how Sunny Deol wasted no time in getting him the help he needed. He immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but things took a turn when the doctors expressed their limitations. Bobby explained, “They took me to the nearest hospital, but later I learned that the doctors had said, ‘We cannot save his leg.’ At that point, my brother stepped up again. He arranged for me to be airlifted overnight, and I underwent surgery there. He has always been my pillar of support.”

Bobby reflected on the long-term effects of the accident, mentioning that despite having an iron rod and screws in his leg, his passion for life remained unaltered. “It has been over 30 years since that incident,” he noted. “I still have a rod and screws in my leg, and while there is some discomfort and pain, I have adapted to it. I can walk, run, dance, fight, jump, and perform action sequences—what more could one ask for?” he added, showcasing his resilience and determination.
Bobby and Sunny Deol are the sons of the esteemed actor Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur. Dharmendra later married renowned actress Hema Malini, with whom he has two daughters, Isha Deol and Ahana Deol.
On the professional front, Bobby Deol was recently seen in the film The Bads of Bollywood, while Sunny Deol is set to appear in upcoming projects including Border 2 and Lahore 1947.
