Films Featured in JFF Meerut

The festival commenced on October 3 with a screening of the film ‘His Story of History’, which debuted on May 30, 2025. This thought-provoking film follows the journey of Namit, a science teacher who prioritizes logic in his life with his wife Kanchan and their daughter Riya. The narrative takes a compelling turn when Riya questions her father’s understanding of complex social issues, such as caste, religion, and gender equality, after engaging with his history book. Initially dismissive of her inquiries, Namit is eventually compelled to reflect on the lessons of history that he has accepted without question.

In addition to ‘His Story of History’, the festival will showcase other notable films such as ‘Agar Magar But But’ and ‘Rajnigandha Achiever Story: Phule’. The event will culminate with the screening of ‘Papa’, directed by Pritviraj Das Gupta, promising a memorable conclusion to the festival.

This year’s Jagran Film Festival also embraces the theme ‘Good Cinema for Everyone’, introducing a special morning session dedicated to children. This segment will feature a selection of short films, animated features, and full-length films tailored for younger audiences, ensuring that the joy of cinema is accessible to all.
