Karan’s Aspirations for His Children

During his discussion, Karan candidly shared that he does not wish for his children to become actors. Instead, he expressed a preference for them to explore careers as makeup or hair artists. When asked about his perspective on star actors, he humorously remarked that while he does not face financial issues, he does have moral reservations about the current state of the industry. He quipped, “Don’t even get me started on the financial discussions surrounding makeup and hair artists these days.”

The Cost of Fame: Karan’s Insights

Karan also addressed the topic of actors traveling with additional personnel, stating, “As business people, we must adhere to our budgets. If you require more people, then you need to compensate them accordingly.” He continued, highlighting the difference in expectations for various film genres, explaining that in biopics or dramas where an actor’s physique is prominently featured, the production is more likely to cover those additional expenses. However, for standard roles, he believes a simpler approach is warranted.

He further elaborated on the expectations surrounding healthy eating habits, stating, “If you wish to maintain a healthy diet, that’s your choice, but I don’t see why I should bear the costs.” Karan emphasized the importance of sticking to the budget allocated for actors, asserting that numerous performers are already opting to cover their extra expenses independently. He concluded, “If you’re earning substantial fees and backend deals, then it’s only fair you manage these additional costs yourself and display some professionalism.”

Karan’s Journey as a Single Parent

In a more personal revelation, Karan shared that he welcomed his two children via surrogacy in 2017 and embraced the role of a single father. Since then, he has been quite open about his experiences raising his children, frequently discussing the joys and challenges of parenting. Johar often shares delightful snippets of his life with his kids on social media, showcasing their playful interactions. In one amusing clip, Ruhi and Yash refused to participate in a selfie, opting instead to blow up balloons, while another featured Yash proudly donning a “Napo Kid” T-shirt, demonstrating his playful nature. Their charming antics consistently resonate with fans, capturing the hearts of many.
